How to find your food stamp card number

If you get food stamps (technically called SNAP benefits) your deposits are delivered on an EBT card. Every EBT card has a unique card number printed on the front, just like a debit card.
Never share your EBT card number with anyone, it’s basically like the code to access your benefits. If you lose your EBT card, report it lost right away so you can get a new one assigned to you with a new number—that will help keep your benefits safe from theft.

Your EBT card number is the number on the front of your EBT card. It’s usually a 16-digit number, but in some states it’s 18 or 19 digits.
Every EBT card has its own unique number—it’s what connects your EBT card to your SNAP benefits account.
You might need your EBT card number when:
- You call customer service about an issue with your EBT card or SNAP benefits
- You register or log into your EBT account online
- You set or change your EBT PIN

No, for security reasons, you generally can’t see your full EBT card number online or in an EBT balance-checking app like Propel.
