No, Buc-ee’s does not take EBT as a payment method.
Buc-ee’s has no formal policy for EBT on their website, but the USDA SNAP retail locator does not list any Buc-ee’s locations. This most likely means it is not an approved store for spending your SNAP benefits.

Why Buc-ee’s doesn’t accept EBT#why-buc-ees-doesnt-accept-ebt
To accept EBT, stores must be approved by the USDA and meet certain requirements.
Buc-ee’s is best known for:
- Hot, prepared foods like brisket sandwiches and tacos
- Convenience items and retail goods
Even though Buc-ee’s sells some grocery-type items, it is primarily a convenience store and known for its ready-to-eat foods and snacks (which SNAP doesn’t allow).
Therefore, Buc-ee’s may not have requested to participate in the EBT program yet.
Why can’t I use SNAP benefits to buy hot foods#why-cant-i-use-snap-benefits-to-buy-hot-foods
SNAP benefits are designed to help people buy groceries to prepare at home, not ready-to-eat meals. Federal rules ban hot and prepared foods from being purchased with food stamps on your EBT card even at stores that take EBT.
There are a few exceptions where you may be able to use your EBT card for hot prepared foods:
- You qualify for the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) — Buc-ee’s does not participate in this program
- You live in an area with an emergency declaration and qualify for a Disaster SNAP hot foods waiver
- You get EBT cash (sometimes loaded on the same EBT card as your SNAP benefits) as part of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Other items you CAN’T BUY with SNAP include hot coffee and other pre-made hot beverages, alcohol, tobacco, pet food, and non-food items like clothes and toiletries.

- Grocery-type items (wheat, dairy, meat, fruits, vegetables)
- Frozen meals and foods (like pizza and chicken nuggets)

- Cold drinks ( juice, water, milk)
